This Unit will conduct its next live firing practice on the following dates:

27 May 2023

These live firing practices will be held at I.P.C Range in Otatara. Beginning at 0900hrs out at the range. If transport is required, you are to be at the IAC by 0815hrs.

All qualified Basic, Regimental,Corps and Advanced Cadets of this unit are required to take part in this practice as a part of the Unit Training Program.

The Gunson Cup Targets are on hand & this competition will be fired in November, so this shoot is giving the basic and corps cadets the opportunity to qualify for the team.

The exercise will be conducted, as in the past, by suitably qualified NZCF Range Conducting Officers.

All cadets taking part will have undergone the Company’s’ weapons training lessons on safety, weapon familiarisation, range commands and procedures.

They will have successfully passed the Units written weapons safety test, and a ‘hands on’ test of elementary training with the NZCF Marlon XT.

The information in the above paragraph is to assure you, that no cadet will be permitted to live fire without the necessary knowledge and training.

No cadet will be forced to live fire against their will, but all will be encouraged to do so as part of their training and confidence building.

If a cadet is unable to attend, or you do not wish for them to live fire, a written notice requesting leave from the cadets parent/guardian is requested, otherwise as a cadet enrolled in the Unit, they will be expected to take part.
